Saviano arrives from Lowell

ESTERO, FL – The Florida Everblades have announced that forward Steve Saviano has joined the team from the American Hockey League's Lowell Lockmonsters. Saviano will be in uniform for the Everblades' game on Thursday's at San Diego.

The 23-year-old native of Massachusetts began the season by skating in six games with the Lockmonsters registering one assist. Saviano is in his rookie season after spending the previous four years at the University of New Hampshire. While at UNH, the 5'8" forward notched 117 points in 139 games, including an impressive 49 points (27g, 22a) in 41 games during his senior season. During his final campaign with the UNH Wildcats, Saviano was named the Hockey East Player of the Year, and was the winner of the Len Ceglarski Sportsmanship Award, which recognizes gentlemanly play.

Saviano fills the roster spot opened when Reggie Berg was placed on the 30-day injured reserve list.

Florida begins a six-game west coast swing on Thursday, November 4 when the team travels to San Diego to take on the Gulls beginning at 10:05 p.m. EST.
