Sea Wolves Shake Up Roster

Mississippi Sea Wolves News Release

BILOXI, Miss. â Mississippi Sea Wolves general manager and coach Bob Woods announced today that the team has acquired left wing Pat O'Leary (OH-lehr-ee) in a trade with the Pee Dee Pride for future considerations, signed free agent goaltender Matt Underhill, waived goaltender Randy Hevey (HEE-vee) and placed right wing Jay Legault (le-GOH) on the 30-day injured reserve.

O'Leary, 25, joins the Sea Wolves after playing in six games with Pee Dee this season, where he collected four assists and eight penalty minutes. The 6-foot-2 and 200-pound O'Leary was selected by the Phoenix Coyotes in the third round, 73rd overall, in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft. A native of Plymouth, Minnesota, O'Leary was a member of the University of Minnesota NCAA Championship team in 2002. O'Leary attended the American Hockey League training camp of the Cleveland Barons in 2004 and is in his third season of pro hockey.

Underhill, 25, appeared in one game in the National Hockey League last season. The 6-foot-2 and 220-pound Underhill suited up for the Chicago Blackhawks on March 7 against the Edmonton Oilers, making 29 saves in a 4-3 overtime loss. A native of Campbell River, British Columbia, Underhill started the 2003-04 campaign with the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League, posting a 2-2-0 record with a 2.90 goals against average and .903 save percentage. In addition, Underhill played in 29 contests with the Florence Pride of the ECHL last season, going 10-14-4, with one shutout, 3.45 goals against average and .897 save percentage. He also appeared in one game, with no decision, for the Norfolk Admirals of the AHL. Underhill was selected by the Calgary Flames in the sixth round, 170th overall, in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft.

Hevey, 23, played in three games with Mississippi. The 6-foot and 185-pound native of Chicopee, Massachusetts compiled a 1-1-0 record to go along with a 3.88 goals against average and .880 save percentage.

Legault, 25, has appeared in six games with the Sea Wolves registering two assists and four penalty minutes. A native of Peterborough, Ontario, Legault is in his fifth season of pro hockey and first year with Mississippi. The 6-foot-4 and 220-pound Legault was selected the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim in the third round, 72nd overall, in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft.

Mississippi gets back into action in a home-and-home series with the Gwinnett Gladiators beginning at 6:35 p.m. CT on Friday at The Arena at Gwinnett Center in Duluth, Georgia.

The Sea Wolves return home for a game at 7:35 p.m. on Saturday versus the Gladiators at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum. Promotions include $2 hotdogs and $2 drafts from 6:30-8:30 p.m., a performance by True Worshippers. It's also Cellular South / WXXV Fox 25 Honor Roll Night, offering two free kids coupons for each Honor Roll student in Hancock, Harrison, Jackson and Stone Counties.
