SETTING THE STAGE: This is the first of two meetings this season between the Brahmas and the Rayz...Corpus Christi will come to Cowtown on Tuesday, December 30...The Brahmas are 16-21-7 all time against the Rayz, including a 6-11-4 mark in Corpus...The struggling Brahmas have not won since Oct. 31 at Wichita and will be looking to snap a seven game losing streak...Corpus Christi has two of their last three games played.
FORT WORTH NOTES: Fort Worth is coming off one of their most disappointing games of the season, having lost to the Amarillo Gorillas 9-1 in Amarillo this past Sunday afternoon...Goaltender Erasmo Saltarelli did not play against Amarillo because of illness and flu-like symptoms; Saltarelli will be a game time decision tonight...Left wing Chad Woollard has scored a goal in four of his last five games played and is now tied with center Jeff Scharf for the team lead in goals with 5...Center Jason Reesor has 7 assists in his last 5 games played...Defenseman Robert Fail leads the club in points with 11...For the third time in their last four games, the Brahmas are playing a Southeast Division team.
CORPUS CHRISTI NOTES: The Rayz have responded well to interim head coach Pat Dunn, winning two of three games last week under Dunn's guidance...Dunn replaced Al Sims last week after the former San Jose Sharks head coach was let go...Forward Ed McGrane has paced the Rayz offensive attack this season, scoring 11 goals and assisting on 7 others...McGrane is tied for third in the CHL in goals scored...Right wing Brad Wingfield is one of the top power forwards in the CHL, as he has 5 goals, 10 assists, and 96 penalty minutes...Former Brahmas d-man Mike Tilson is having another good year for the Rayz, as he has 3 goals, 5 assists and is playing at a +9...Left wing Cosmo Dupaul, who is second all time on the points list for the Brahmas, joined the Rayz roster last week and has a goal and two assists in three games played.
