
Former SwampDog Blake Gailen Signed by The Angels

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The Fayetteville SwampDogs have announced that former SwampDog Blake Gailen has been signed by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
"We're really happy for Blake," said SwampDogs head coach Darrell Handelsman. "His perseverance and passion for the game have gotten him to this point, and we're excited he has the opportunity to play affiliated baseball."
Gailen, a SwampDog in '05 and '06, had been playing for the Lincoln Saltdogs of the American Association of Independent Baseball. He was batting .406 with 24 doubles, eight homeruns, and 46 RBI's in 69 games this season.
A UNLV graduate, Gailen reported to Double-A Arkansas of the Texas League on Friday.
