
Former Islander Menifee Makes Xplosion Camp

PITTSBURGH, October 30, 2007 -Former Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Islander Kevin Menifee has been invited to participate in training camp for the CBA's Pittsburgh Xplosion, the team announced today.
Menifee played in 33 games last season for the Islanders, averaging 6.2 points, 3.3 assists, and 5.6 rebounds per game for the Southland Conference West Division and conference tournament champions. The Islanders earned their first-ever birth into the NCAA Tournament, losing to second-seeded Wisconsin in the first round, 76-63.
A McKeesport, PA, native, Menifee will return home to play for the Xplosion. He averaged 19 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 assists per game in his senior season at South Allegheny High School. Playing for coach Ed Marko, Menifee led the Gladiators to a 20-5 overall record and a berth in the WPIAL AAA playoffs that year.
Menifee participated in both of new head coach Carlos Knox's open tryout camps in the two months. The Xplosion open training camp November 5. The season begins at home against East Kentucky November 16. For ticket information, visit the team Web site at www.pittsburghxplosion.com.
