Albany Patroons News Release
Albany, NY (October 30, 2007) - The Albany Patroons would like to congratulate former Patroon Jamario Moon. Jamario, who starred in two seasons with the Albany Patroons, is officially in the NBA after being placed on the Toronto Raptors season-opening roster. The Raptors had signed Jamario as a free agent with a two year contract this past summer after he attended the Raptors' free agent camp held in June. Jamario, a fan favorite with a unique jumping ability, was a tremendous player during his time in the CBA. He was named the 2006-7 Defensive Player of the Year and earned All-CBA First Team honors after finishing the CBA season seventh in scoring (18.8), fourth in rebounding (7.8), third in steals (2.0) and second in blocks (2.4). Jamario also ranked fifth in the CBA in three-point field percentage at .401 (73-182) and shot .503 per cent (316-628) from the field.
"Our organization is extremely proud of Jamario's accomplishments and wish him the best of luck with his NBA career," said Patroons Vice President and General Manager, Dave Bestle.
Two of the Albany Patroons selections for the 2007 CBA College Draft have also been place on NBA season-opening rosters. The Patroons first selection, Coby Karl, is on the LA Lakers season-opening roster. Chris Richard, the Patroons second selection in the CBA College Draft, has been placed on Minnesota's season-opening roster.
