Skyrockets Sign Two Globetrotters

Minot, ND - October 30, 2007 - The Minot Skyrockets are pleased to announce the signing of Maurice Shaw and Derek Wabbington, pending league approval.

Shaw is a 6-10 center who spent the 2005-06 season with the Harlem Globetrotters Professional Traveling Team. He also played in Portugal in 2006-07. Wabbington is a 6-10 forward from the University of Wyoming. The lefty also played with the Globetrotters Pro Team in 2006.

Both Shaw and Wabbington have worked out with Skyrockets Assistant Coach Don Sellers. Both players were referred to the coaching staff by Chad Groth, former Director of Player Personnel for the Globetrotters.

"We are very happy to have both of these players in our camp. I have a lot of respect for Chad and his player evaluation skills. These two players have played all over the world with the Globetrotters, and now they are anxious to showcase their skills in the CBA. With the CBA's webcasting capabilities, basketball fans from around the world can watch them play in Minot," said Head Coach Chris Daleo.

With the season just around the corner, players will be arriving in town on November 7th and will begin practice on November 8th.
