Skyrockets Announce Schedule Changes

Minot, ND - December 11, 2008 - The Minot Skyrockets and the CBA today announced changes to this upcoming seasons schedule, starting with next week's games. Wednesday, December 17th and Thursday, December 18th, the Skyrockets will play against the ABA's Chicago Steam, with an announcement forthcoming on the remaining dates for the ABA's schedule.

The Continental Basketball Association made the announcement today that they will play inter-league games with the American Basketball Association, starting today, December 11th and will continue through January 15th, consisting of 42 games between the CBA teams and select teams from the ABA, due to the Pittsburgh Xplosion electing to sit out this season in order to reorganize for the 2009-2010 season.

The Skyrockets will still partake in the inter-league contests with their already published home schedule, though the teams before the 15th will be replaced with ABA teams, the same league that once merged with the NBA and brought national attention to stars like Julius Erving, Connie Hawkins and George Gervin.

"This will be a good opportunity for the city of Minot to see a lot of teams this season", Skyrockets Vice-president Peder Rice said. "With the opportunity to bring in more teams, like the Chicago Steam, the Minot basketball fans will be able to see a more diversified schedule showcasing the talent that is in the USA's minor leagues at the same affordable, family-friendly prices that the Skyrockets have always brought."

The Skyrockets would also like to let all of their dedicated season ticket holders know that season tickets are ready to be picked up at the Skyrockets office in the Minot Municipal Auditorium from 9 am to 5 pm.

The Skyrockets tip-off the season on December 17th against the Chicago Steam. There are also still season tickets available.
