Former Crunch Star Scott Walker to Play in Annual Time Warner Crunch Classic March 12

Syracuse, NY (March 8, 2005) – The Syracuse Crunch announced today that former Crunch and current Nashville Predators star Scott Walker will participate in the Annual Time Warner Crunch Classic on Saturday, March 12.

Walker will play in the Crunch's Annual Time Warner Classic that will be held on Saturday, March 12 at 3:00 p.m. In addition to Walker, Crunch head coach Gary Agnew, assistant coach Ross Yates, WSTM meteorologist Wayne Mahar and Park Superintendent of Alliance Bank Stadium and Hopkins Road Park Brian Elwell will join the teams on the ice. The Time Warner Crunch Classic will be open to the public.

Walker, 31, has appeared in 574 career NHL games with Vancouver and Nashville, tallying 101 goals, 174 assists and 895 penalty minutes. While with Syracuse during the 1994-95 and 1995-96 seasons, Walker appeared in 89 games, recording 17 goals, 50 assists and 386 penalty minutes. In 166 career AHL games with Hamilton and Syracuse, Walker recorded 27 goals, 79 assists and 658 penalty minutes. A native of Cambridge, Ontario, Walker was selected by Vancouver in the fifth round, 124th overall, in the 1993 NHL Entry Draft.

Following the Time Warner Crunch Classic, Scott Walker will participate in the ceremonial puck-drop prior to the Crunch's game on Saturday, March 12 against Rochester. During the first intermission, Walker will be available for autographs.
