
Forest City outslugs Thomasville

THOMASVILLE, N.C. - Forest City and Thomasville combined for six home runs on Wednesday night at Finch Field, but in the end, the Owls handed the HiToms their first loss of the second half 7-6.
Thomasville (4-1) took a two-run lead after Jacob Fisher blasted his first home run of the season in the third inning, however that lead was short lived as in the top of the fourth, Conner Scarborough (L, 1-3) gave up his second grand slam is as many starts as Forest City (2-1) took a 5-3 lead.
Dusty Quattlebaum blasted his second long ball of the season in the fifth to give the Owls a three run lead, but the Tommies tried to make a comeback when Stephen Carmon slugged a two-run shot to right to make it 5-4.
The game would seesaw back and forth but Thomasville never could tie the game as Forest City behind DJ Thomas (W, 2-0) and Adam Izokovic (S, 7) picked up a 7-6 victory.
Thomasville is back at home tomorrow night at 7:00 when they host the Martinsville Mustangs at Finch Field, tomorrow, select 12 ounce beer will be on sale for just one dollar.
