BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Dylan Floro threw nine innings, the Biscuits (33-35) stranded a season-high 16 on base, but Willie Argo's bases loaded single in the 14th inning made the difference in a 5-3 win over the Birmingham Barons in 14 innings Friday night at Regions Field.

Floro - the reigning Southern League pitcher of the week - followed up last week's shutout with a nine-inning performance against the Barons, but left with a no decision. Floro held the Barons to two runs on six hits with five strikeouts and no walks. He left the game after throwing the ninth with the score tied at two.

After being held scoreless since the fourth inning - nine-straight innings - Ryan Brett led off the 14th inning with a bunt single then stole second. Jake Hager grounded out. Cameron Seitzer was intentionally walked. Taylor Motter followed with an infield single to load the bases. Argo came to the plate to finally break through with an RBI-single. Jeff Malm added two more with a single down the right field line to give the Biscuits a 5-2 lead.

The Barons were able to score a run in the 14th to make it a two-run game. With the tying-run on base, Matt Ramsey (3) struck out Jaime Pedroza to end the game. Ramsey picked up his second save in as many nights and his third overall.

Hector Guevara drove in the first run of the game with a double in the second. Jake DePew picked up with his first AA-hit with an RBI-single in the fourth, part of a three-hit night.

The Barons scored one in the fourth then one in the fifth off of Floro to tie the game.

Braulio Lara (1-0) pitched a scoreless thirteenth inning for the win.

The Biscuits finished with fourteen hits in the four hour and seven minute marathon.

Game four of the series is Saturday night at 6:30. RH Roberto Gomez will throw against LH Scott Snodgress.
