Choi & Kohlscheen to AAA Tacoma, Landazuri Activated from DL

JACKSON, TENN. - The Seattle Mariners have announced the following roster moves that affect the Generals roster. INF Ji-Man Choi and right-handed reliever Stephen Kohlscheen have been promoted to AAA Tacoma. Also, RHP Stephen Landazuri has been activated from the disabled list and will start tonight's 6:05 p.m. game against Jacksonville. Kohlscheen and Choi will join the Rainers in Nashville.

Choi, 23, batted .273 (3x11) with a double, home run and 5 RBI in 4 games with the Generals after being activated on Monday. Choi returns to Tacoma where began the season and was batting .394 (13x33) with a double, home run and 5 RBI for the Rainiers in 10 games. Choi was signed by the Mariners in in July, 2009 out of Incheon, South Korea.

Kohlscheen, 25, a Southern League All-Star selection went 1-1, with a 2.25 ERA (8 ER/32.0 IP) for Jackson in 23 games. He posted 6 saves while walking just 4 and striking out 33. Kohlscheen was selected by the Mariners in the 45th round of the 2010 draft out of Auburn University. He resides in Norman, Oklahoma.

Landazuri, 22, was placed on the disabled list on April 29th with an oblique strain. In 4 starts before the injury Landazuri was 3-1, with a 1.96 ERA (5 ER/23.0 IP) with at the time a league-leading 30 strikeouts. He struck out 9 batters in two starts on April 17th and April 22nd. He was Seattle's 22nd round draft pick in the 2010 draft out of Wilmer Carter High School in Rialto, California.
