Florimon Earns Player of the Week Honor

Frederick, MD - Frederick Keys shortstop Pedro Florimon has been named Carolina League Player of the Week for games played between July 5th and July 11th. Florimon, who went 8-for-18 with five extra base hits during that span, is the third player to earn such an honor since the All-Star Break for Frederick. 1B Joe Mahoney and LHP Nathan Moreau have also earned Player of the Week honors.

Florimon came back to Frederick after rehabbing an oblique injury with Short Season-A Aberdeen on June 26th. He began the year in Double-A Bowie. Last year, Florimon burst on the seen batting .267 with nine home runs while earning a place on the Carolina League All-Star team. The Orioles placed Florimon on its 40-man roster this off-season.
