Frederick Keys News Release

After getting swept by the Potomac Nationals to start off the six-game homestand, the Keys (10-8, 51-37) finished out the homestand with a three-game sweep of the Kinston Indians (7-10, 43-44). RHP Luis Noel threw six scoreless en route to the win in his Carolina League debut. 1B Jacob Julius hit his 10th homerun of the season in the Frederick, 4-0, victory.

Following two scoreless innings by Noel, Jacob Julius belted a solo shot to leftfield to give the Keys the early advantage. Julius' long ball was his 10th of the season which tied him with RF Ronnie Welty for the team-lead on the year.

Noel continue his domination on the hill as he allowed just two hits in his first four innings of work.

3B Billy Rowell added more runs for Frederick in the fourth. With 2B LJ Hoes on second and 2B Miguel Abreu on first, Rowell hit the T.J. House pitch down the rightfield line for a two-run double. Rowell finished up the series against Kinston 5-for-12 with a double, a homerun, three runs scored, and three RBI. Indians starter, T.J. House, finished up his evening allowing three earned runs over four innings.

The Keys added their fourth and final run of the night in the bottom of the fifth inning. Following a double by CF Kyle Hudson, Ronnie Welty hit a RBI single to centerfield. With the RBI, Welty increased his RBI total to a team-best 49 on the year.

Luis Noel finished up his impressive Frederick debut after six innings. On the night, he allowed no runs to score on two hits while striking out six and walking one.

Frederick's bullpen closed the door as LHP Brett Bordes, RHP Raul Rivero, and RHP Sean Gleason combined to throw three shutout innings to close out the Keys victory and to complete the sweep of Kinston.

The Keys will have Tuesday off before hitting the road for an eight day, seven game road trip. Frederick opens up the trip against the Wilmington Blue Rocks on Wednesday night. RHP Ryan O'Shea (5-4, 3.50) will start for Frederick while the Blue Rocks will send LHP Buddy Baumann (2-1, 2.35) to the hill.

Frederick will return home on Thursday, July 22, when they welcome in the Myrtle Beach Pelicans for a four-game series. For tickets call 1-877-8-GO-KEYS or purchase online at www.frederickkeys.com.
