Wehiwa Aloy and Joseph Dzierwa Named Orioles Minor League Player and Pitcher of the Year

FREDERICK, MD - Three different members of the 2026 Keys roster took home postseason awards on Monday as shortstop Wehiwa Aloy and left-handed pitcher Joseph Dzierwa were named the 2026 Baltimore Orioles Brooks Robinson Minor League Player and Jim Palmer Pitcher of the Year respectively. Keys manager Collin Woody also earned the Cal Ripken, Sr. Player Development Award from the Orioles.

These accolades come after a record setting 2026 campaign in which the Keys won a franchise best 83 games in the regular season and secured both the first and second half South Atlantic League North Division titles. They also qualified for the postseason for the first time since 2017.

Aloy took home the Player of the Year award following a historic first full season in the Orioles organization. He began the 2026 campaign with High-A Frederick and in 84 games finished with a .300 batting average, 15 home runs, and 69 RBIs. He also hit 14 doubles and four triples, while serving as the team's primary shortstop before receiving the call to Double-A Chesapeake on July 28.

Once he received the call to join the Baysox, he hit 10 more homers and brought in 23 RBIs in 39 games. He also recorded a batting average of .261 and finished the 2026 campaign with an overall average of .288 across 123 games this season.

Dzierwa earned Pitcher of the Year honors after completing his first full year with the Orioles organization. He began his time with the Keys and spent most of the season with the Double-A Baysox. In Frederick, the No. 58 overall pick from the 2025 draft recorded a 2.21 ERA across 40.2 innings and posted a 5-1 record. He also finished with 50 strikeouts and allowed just 10 walks, bring his WHIP to a 0.81 mark before his promotion to Double-A on May 19.

Since arriving to Chesapeake, he threw in 90.1 innings on the hill and recorded 99 strikeouts along with a 2.29 ERA. His best month with the Baysox came during July where he finished with a 1.52 ERA across five appearances and allowed only four earned runs in 23.2 innings pitched.

Shortly after being named the South Atlantic League Manager of the Year, Woody was named as the 2026 recipient of the Cal Ripken, Sr. Player Development Award. This award is handed out every year to an Orioles staff member who exemplifies Ripken's qualities as an instructor. Woody received the honor after leading the Keys to a franchise record 83 wins during the regular season. He led the team to victory while developing some of the organization's top Minor League talent including 2025 Orioles first-round draft pick and outfielder Ike Irish and 11th-ranked Orioles prospect and left-handed pitcher Boston Bateman.
