Keys Beat Kinston 4-0

The Frederick Keys completed a series sweep, taking down Kinston 4-0 Monday night in Maryland.

Frederick's Jacob Julius started the scoring with a solo home run to lead of the bottom of the second inning. Frederick would get to Kinston starter T.J. House in the bottom of the fourth inning. House walked his first two batters of the game back-to-back with one out in the frame. Billy Rowell then stepped up and made House pay with a two RBI double to give the Keys a 3-0 advantage. House (2-7) took the loss going four innings, giving up four hits and three earned runs. House walked two and struck out four.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, Frederick would add a run off of Kinston reliever Travis Turek with an RBI single by Ronnie Welty. Just off the DL, Rob Bryson threw a scoreless inning from the bullpen. Bryson gave up one hit and struck out a batter. Chris Jones finished the game for Kinston, not giving up a run in two innings of work.

Frederick pitching put it to Kinston for the second straight night, as the Indians managed just three hits. In his Carolina League debut, Luis Noel (1-0) picked up the win giving up just two hits in six innings. Noel walked one and struck out seven. Brett Bordes, Raul Rivero and Sean Gleason finished things up from the bullpen. Bo Greenwell went 2-for-3 for Kinston.

After an off day on Tuesday, the K-Tribe will finish up the roadtrip with four at Potomac. Game one of the Potomac series starts at 7:03 pm on Wednesday night; Joe Gardner will start on the hill for the Indians.
