Miami Majesty News Release

Sunrise, FL. Jarron Jones poured in 20 points and Marcus Barnes added 18 to lead the Florida Pit Bulls to a 118-83 win over the visiting Charlotte Krunk at the BankAtlantic Center. The Pit Bulls (5-2) avenged a two-point loss to Charlotte in a game played a little more than a week ago. Tim Hardaway added 13 and Karel Raosrio and Andre Smith had 12 apiece. The Pit Bulls marched to a 17-4 lead in the first quarter and led by as many as 37 during the contest. Florida had a commanding 59-28 lead at intermission.

DeRon Ruttledge led Charlotte with 21. Antonio Burks added 12 along with Terris Sifford. It marks the third straight win for the Pit Bulls. The team closed out its homestand at 3-1 and now heads for a 10-day, 5 game road trip with 3 games this weekend against Dennis Scott's Atlanta Vision and two next week at Charlotte. At halftime, Pit Bulls fans were treated to an amazing performance by superstar R & B group 112. The Pit Bulls next home game will be December 23 at 7pm versus the Mississippi Stingers. All home games will be broadcast in South Florida on NewsTalk 1360 WKAT and on the internet at 1360WKAT.com.

As a side note to the game, President/CEO and principal owner Duane "Spyder" Hughes made his professional coaching debut. Coach Floyd couldn't make the game for personal family reasons. I only did this for this game. I had a tough act to follow with the team having beaten the Pit Bulls last week. I'm an old point guard. I did what comes instinctive to me. I am sure that Tim Hardaway wanted to avenge last week's loss. I did my best. I guess it just shows hows good Coach Floyd is - cause it wasn't good enough - but it sure was fun. We'll come back when we play them next Tuesday and Thursday in Charlotte."
