Miami Majesty News Release

Sunrise, FL. Amid the excitement of the ABA All Star game and pre-game basketball activities, the Florida Pit Bulls, in conjunction with several of their sponsors and partners, had an award ceremony at midcourt during the halftime that silenced the crowd - and then brought them to their feet with a standing ovation. A young woman, Williathe Narcisse, was awarded a 4-Year college scholarship to the college of her choice by SoBe Records under the direction of Mark Boyd. Sybrena Foster, Director of Media and Community Relations for the Pit Bulls shared with the crowd a stirring story of Williathe's difficult past and how she has overcome some great difficulties to endure. According to Ms. Foster, "One of our goals at the Pit Bulls is to make an impact in the community; we've been doing things all season that often go unnoticed. We appreciated the opportunity to showcase this one effort because it symbolized what this is all about. And the crowd really responded."

The effort was coordinated with South Florida's own Cox Radio's WEDR 99 JAMZ, represented by DRIVE at 5 host, K FOX and the Director of Marketing and Promotions, Mr. Maestro. The presenter of the awards was Claudia Selgas from CBS 4/UPN 33. The Pit Bulls provided Williathe with a new several new wardrobes and Marsha of RUFF CUTS provided the hair styling. Williathe will be interning at CBS 4 and additional awards will be made to her. For more information, visit www.floridapitbulls.com or www.abalive.com.
