Detroit Wheels down Xplosion

Pittsburgh Xplosion News Release


DETROIT -- The Detroit Wheels defeated the Pittsburgh Xplosion 108-94 tonight as the Xplosion lost their second road game in a row. Former Point Park University star DeVaughn Halsel led the Xplosion with 25 points and 6 rebounds and Detroit's David Myers led all scorers with 28 points. The Xplosion led at halftime, 53-48, but the Wheels put their offense in high gear in the second half, sparked by 40 points in the decisive third quarter.

Coleco Buie scored 17 for the Xplosion, forward Janerio Spurlock added 15 and Issac Jefferson grabbed 9 rebounds as Pittsburgh's record fell to 5-6. Chris Acker scored 23 for the Wheels and Willie Mitchell added 17 points and 4 assists. Detroit's Travis Brown led all players with 14 rebounds.

The Xplosion hope to end their three-game road trip with a victory Sunday against the first place Indiana Alley Cats before returning to Pittsburgh for a game on Monday, Dec. 12, against the Toledo Ice at Mellon Arena.
