Florida Panthers to Hold Training Camp in Alamo City

San Antonio – The San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League announced today that the Florida Panthers will hold a weeklong training camp in San Antonio, beginning on Sunday, September 21 and concluding on Saturday, September 27, with an intrasqaud scrimmage at the SBC Center at 6:00 p.m.

All practices during training camp will be held at the Northwoods Ice Center, located at 17532 Henderson Pass, just behind the Northwoods Cinema. Practice times, as well as media availability times and locations will be announced in the beginning of September.

"We are extremely pleased to host the Panthers training camp this season," said Rick Carden, Rampage Director of Hockey Business Operations. "Throughout the course of the week our fans will have the opportunity to meet with the Panthers players and coaching staff at selected open practices and community events. It will be an exciting week for hockey in San Antonio."

At the weeklong camp and intrasqaud scrimmage fans will get the chance to see goaltender Roberto Luongo, who is coming off a breakout season recording a personal-best 20 wins, while also setting career marks and Panthers single-season records for saves (1,847), shots against (2,011), games played (56), minutes (3,627) and shutouts (6). In addition, fans will get a chance to check out center Nathan Horton and right wing Anthony Stewart, who were both selected in the first round of this year's NHL Entry Draft. Other notable players include defenseman Jay Bouwmeester, left wing Kristian Huselius, right wing Viktor Kozlov, and centers Olli Jokinen and Stephen Weiss.
