Flores joins Sens on rehab

The Harrisburg Senators have announced that C Jesus Flores has joined the team on an MLB rehab assignment. His assignment is expected to last until at least Thursday. In addition RHP Carlos Martinez has been promoted from Potomac and RHP Andrew Kown has been transferred to the Senators from Syracuse. LHP Yunior Novoa has been placed on the disabled list with a sore left elbow retroactive to May 21st .

Martinez and Kown both pitched for part of the 2009 season in Harrisburg. Martinez is expected to start on Tuesday night against Erie for the Senators.

Flores is the first MLB rehab assigned to the Sens this season. He was originally selected by the Nationals from the Mets in on 12/7/06 in the Major League Rule 5 Draft. Prior to injuring his right shoulder, he was hitting .311 with 4 home runs and 15 rbi in 26 games this season for the Nationals.

With these moves, the Senators roster is at 24 active players plus four players on the disabled list and one MLB rehab.
