
Flores Earns Pitcher Of The Week Honors After Complete Game Shutout

(Brockton, Mass.) - Freddy Flores took home the Can-Am Pitcher of the Week award after a performance on the mound Friday night that sits a top the list of highlights during the 37-year-old's career.
In his only start of the week, the veteran righthander dominated the Rockland Boulders through nine innings, allowing no runs on three hits while striking out and walking two.
The impressive effort yielded the sixth win of the season for Flores, who has gone 6-5 in 14 starts with a 3.90 ERA in 2011.
Flores has allowed 45 runs (38 earned) on 84 hits in 87 and 2/3 innings pitched this season. He has struck out 52 and walked 19, while Can-Am League opponents are hitting .251 against him.
The resident of Kalispell, Montana is scheduled to make his next start Thursday, August 11 against the Worcester Tornadoes at Hanover Insurance Park at Fitton Field.
It is the first 2011 Can-Am League Pitcher of the Week award for Flores.
