Florence falls in close game vs. Windy City

Florence, Kentucky: A record 3,837 fans strolled into Champion Window Field in Florence, Kentucky, another record breaking night on Thirsty Thursday. Again, the Freedom bats fail to come alive, losing 3-2.

The game remained scoreless until the fourth, when Windy City scored a run on a sacrifice fly, leading the game 1-0. The Thunderbolts add another run in the seventh on a RBI single by Clemente Bonilla, but the Freedom strike back with a solo homer by Mike Galloway, his league leading 22nd. After seven, it was Windy City on top by one, 2-1. In the eighth, Trevor Hall tied things up for Florence on an RBI single. This one went to extras, but in the Top of ten, Ted Rowe gave up a solo homerun to Nick Ewen, his first. Florence failed to score in the bottom of ten, and lost it, 3-2. Curt Moenter pitched wonerfully, going eight innings, giving up two runs on nine hits, striking out eight. Ted Rowe picked up the loss, pitching two innings with an earned run given up, his record falls to 5-2.

The Freedom look to avoid the sweep tonight, first pitch at 7:05. Mike Renery (4-6) is set to go for Windy City, and Jason Bowlin (7-1) is scheduled to start for the Freedom.
