Evansville Otters News Release
Todd Dulaney scored on a wild pitch in the ninth inning to give the Rockford RiverHawks a 1-0 win over the Evansville Otters.
The game was a scoreless tie into the ninth inning as Chris Pillsbury and Frank James dueled each other to a 0-0 stalemate through eight innings.
In the ninth, Dulaney reached on an error by Brian McKenna. Pillsbury compounded the problem by throwing the ball wide of first base, moving Dulaney to third. He came into score on wild pitch two tosses later.
For Evansville, Pillsbury (4-5) was superb going all nine innings allowing just the one unearned run. He walked one and struck out nine. At one time starting in the second inning, he retired 15 batters in a row.
James (1-1) was equal to Pillsbury in the game, but got into trouble loading the bases with nobody out in the ninth. However, Jason Glosser came in and struck out Beau Blacken and then got Cole Hilt to bounce into a double play to end the game for his eighth save.
Cody Blackard will start tomorrow for Evansville as they start a new series against Kalamazoo. Game time is set for 7:05 p.m.
