Flash Forward Dupree Selected to Play in NBA D-League All-Star Game

PROVO, Utah, Feb. 3, 2008 - Utah Flash forward Ronald Dupree has been selected to play in the 2009 NBA Development League All-Star Game Saturday, Feb. 14 in Phoenix. The game will be held on Center Court at NBA All-Star Jam Session presented by adidas with tipoff at 2 p.m. local time.

Dupree will play on the Blue Team, which will be coached by Austin Toros head coach Quin Snyder and consist of 10 prospects. He is the third Flash player in two seasons to be selected by NBA D-League fans and coaches to participate in the game. Morris Almond and Kyrylo Fesenko participated in All-Star festivities last season in New Orleans.

"This is a tremendous honor for a very deserving player," Flash head coach Brad Jones said. "In addition to being a great player, Ronald is the consummate professional and continues to be an awesome ambassador for our team and our league."

Dupree has played in five games for the Flash since being acquired in a sign and trade deal that sent center Steven Hill to the Tulsa 66ers. Over those five games he is averaging 32.6 minutes, 15.0 points, 7.4 rebounds and 3.2 assists. In 23 total games with the Flash and the 66ers the former LSU star is averaging 35.8 minutes, 18.9 points, 6.8 rebounds and 3.6 assists.

The NBA D-League will also host the second annual Dream Factory Friday Night, a skills competition similar to NBA All-Star Saturday Night, which will include a three-point shootout, a slam dunk contest, and a game of H.O.R.S.E. Dream Factory events will take place on Center Court at NBA All-Star Jam Session presented by adidas beginning at 7:15 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 13.
