Flames Sign Jacques

Saint John, NB – The Saint John Flames announced today the signing of 25-year-old right wing Alexandre Jacques to a professional tryout.

Jacques, a 5'11", 170 lb native of Laval, Quebec, was drafted by the Detroit Red Wings in the sixth round, 162nd overall, of the 1996 NHL Entry Draft. In 144 career AHL games, Jacques has recorded 47 points (19 goals, 28 assists) and 47 penalty minutes. Jacques began the season with the Toledo Storm (ECHL), recording 23 points (14 goals, 9 assists) and 8 penalty minutes in 21 games.

Jacques is expected to join the Flames for tonight's contest against the Binghamton Senators at Harbour Station. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
