Bulldogs Come from Behind to Win

Michael Ryder scored two third period goals to help the Hamilton Bulldogs come from behind to defeat the Cleveland Barons 2-1 at Copps Coliseum on Friday night.

The win improves the Bulldogs record to 17 wins, 6 losses, 1 tie and 2 overtime losses. Hamilton now has 37 points on the season and continue to lead the Canadian Division.

The Barons Lynn Loyns opened the scoring at the 15:24 mark with his first goal of the season.

There was no scoring in the second period.

Ryder scored the game-tying goal at 10:46 of the third period, and then capped the night with game-winner with just 2:41 remaining in regulation time.

Bulldogs goaltender Ty Conklin earned his ninth win of the season as he made 18 saves. Vesa Toskala, the game's third star, took the loss for the Barons and made 39 saves.

The Hamilton Bulldogs next action takes place on Saturday night as they travel to Cleveland to take on the Barons. Bulldogs fans can listen to Derek Wills and Al Craig call all the action beginning with the pre-game show at 6:50 p.m. on 820 CHAM-AM and on-line at www.hamiltonbulldogs.com.

The Bulldogs will return home to play the Barons on Sunday for the third game in three days. Fans are asked to bring a toy for 'Y108 Stuffed Animal Day', which is to be tossed on the ice after the Bulldogs' first goal. The toys will be collected and distributed to children through local charities.
