Las Vegas Wranglers News Release
Las Vegas, NV- The Las Vegas Wranglers® announced that the Quad City Flames of the American Hockey League have assigned forwards Adam Cracknell and Ryan Donally.
"We expect to see improvements in both Adam and Ryan," said Wranglers General Manager / Head Coach Glen Gulutzan. "Cracknell has one of the hardest shots in the league and can put the puck in the net. Donally had a great camp in Calgary and we expect him to elevate his game to the next level. He will provide size and toughness up front."
Cracknell enters his second season of professional hockey after his rookie campaign in Las Vegas. The Victoria, BC native was drafted by the Flames in the ninth round (#279 overall) in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. Last season, Cracknell posted eight goals and 14 assists for 22 points in only 31 games. The 6-foot-2, 210-pound right wing missed 41 games after sustaining a serious leg injury. Cracknell scored three goals and added two assists for five points in eight playoff games. In 2005-06, the 22-year old led the WHL's Kootenay Ice in scoring with 93 points in 72 games, placing him second in the overall scoring race. Cracknell participated in the Calgary Flames NHL training camp and with the AHL's Quad City Flames.
Donally returns for his second season of professional hockey after splitting time between Las Vegas and the AHL's Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights last season. The Tecumseh, ON native suited up 33 times for the Wranglers, scoring three goals and adding five assists for eight points. The 6-foot-4, 230-pound forward also registered 79 penalty minutes with Las Vegas. In 18 AHL games with Omaha, Donally scored three goals and added two assists for five points, to go along with 38 penalty minutes. The Calgary Flames drafted Donally in the third round (#97 overall) of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. Prior to turning pro, Donally played for Windsor, Kitchener and Sudbury of the OHL. In 259 OHL games, Donally scored 33 times and dished out 46 assists for 79 points. The left wing also accumulated 515 penalty minutes in five OHL seasons.
The Wranglers are expected to announce the 2007-08 training camp roster this Friday.
