
Flags win first of home and home series

PORT HURON, MI-The Motor City Mechanics could only muster one goal as the Flags netted five en route to a 5-1 win tonight in Port Huron at the McMorran Arena in downtown Port Huron.
The Flags scored once in the first and exploded for four goals in the second to mount an almost impossible climb for the Mechanics.
Tom Kotsopoulos scored with three minutes left to break the shutout bid for Flag goaltender Scott Hay.
Rod Branch made his 71st appearance in net making 17 saves before being replaced by backup Bill Ruggiero midway through the second period. Ruggiero finished with 8 saves on 8 shots.
The Mechanics have one more game in the regular season. Tomorrow the Flags return to Fraser to finish out the regular season.
