
Victory Sports Group Sells Mallards

Quad City Mallards News Release
Moline, IL- Victory Sports Group, LLC announced today the sale of the Quad City Mallards hockey club. The agreement transfers ownership of the 11-year old United Hockey League franchise to a group of local businessmen led by Dennis Voss of Eldridge, IA. The sale is pending approval by the Board of Directors of The MARK of the Quad Cities.
"We are very excited to become a part of the Mallards tradition," said Dennis Voss, President of Quad City Sports Ventures. "We are looking forward to the rest of this season and future seasons. We're excited to serve the Quad City area and specifically Mallards fans. Most importantly, we look forward to the chance to return championship hockey to the Quad Cities."
Voss and other members of Quad City Sports Ventures will be on hand tonight as the Mallards host Fan Appreciation Night presented by Dick N Sons Lumber at The MARK beginning at 7 p.m. The new ownership group will be part of a ceremonial pre-game puck drop and will be available to the media following the puck drop ceremony.
"We certainly feel very comfortable handing this franchise over to Dennis and his group," said Mike Tatoian, the Chief Executive Officer of Victory Sports Group. "They are as passionate about the success of the Mallards as we have been. With solid local ownership, the future of the Mallards is bright."
Quad City Sports Ventures will assume ownership immediately after the conclusion of this season. A formal press conference will be scheduled in the near future.
The Mallards game tonight vs. Richmond is a chance for the team to secure its 11th consecutive playoff berth. Game time is 7 p.m. Tickets are available at The MARK box office or via Ticketmaster (563-326-1111 or ticketmaster.com).
Season tickets for the 2006-07 season are available now at The MARK box office. Information on season tickets for the upcoming campaign will be available tonight at The Maroon Mortgage Information Table. "The QUACK is Back!" campaign features a guarantee to season ticket holders that allows those that aren't satisfied to return their season tickets for a cash refund at any point in the 2006-07 season.
