Five Warriors Prospects Heading to 2023 WHL Cup

Moose Jaw, SK - The Moose Jaw Warriors will have five prospects suiting up for three teams at the 2023 WHL Cup in Red Deer, AB.

Aaron Sawatzky, the Warriors' 2023 first round pick, will lead Team Alberta into the tournament.

In four games this season with the Airdrie Bisons U18 AAA team in the Alberta Elite Hockey League, Sawatzky has one assist.

Moose Jaw will be have the largest representation on Team Saskatchewan with three players, including defenceman William Degagne and forwards Carson Deichert and Davey Fisher.

Degagne was the Warriors' second round pick in the 2023 WHL Prospects. He has one goal and two points in four games with the Saskatoon Blazers in the Saskatchewan Male U18 AAA Hockey League.

Deichert was selected by the Warriors in the third round. He has one goal and four points in six games for the Moose Jaw U18 AAA Warriors.

Fisher was taken by the Warriors in the ninth round. So far this season with the Saskatoon Contacts, he has one goal in four games.

Goalie Micah Davidson, who was listed by the Warriors, will be representing Team British Columbia.

In two games this season with the OHA Penticton U17 Prep team, Davidson has a 1-1-0 record with a 3.53 goals against average and a 0.892 save percentage.

The 2023 WHL Cup, presented by FPS Payment, will be held from Oct. 18-22 at the Peavey Mart Centrium in Red Deer.
