Southridge Dental Family Night
Americans vs Wheat Kings
Friday, October 13 | Kennewick, WA | Toyota Center
Start Time: 7:05 p.m. PDT
The Wheat Kings will make an appearance at the Toyota Center tonight for the first time since October 22, 2019.
Tri-City will look to earn their third straight victory tonight after an impressive 3-1 Home Opener victory last Saturday.
Brandon and Tri-City most recently faced each other last November in Brandon when the Ams earned a 4-3 overtime victory. Lukas Dragicevic netted the overtime winner that night, recording one goal and one assist amid his history 27-game point streak. Tonight is Brandon's first game in their U.S. Divison swing. After tonight they will continue on to Spokane, Seattle, Portland, Everett, and then Wenatchee.
Parker Bell was re-assigned by the Calgary Wranglers to the Americans yesterday and will join the Americans this weekend. The 20-year-old native of Campbell River, B.C. signed an entry-level contract with the Flames on September 21. Bell was selected by the Flames in the fifth round (155th overall) of the 2022 NHL Draft. He led the Americans with 1.16 points per game in the 2022-23 season. Bell's points production increased to 64 (25 goals, 39 assists) from 49 (18 goals, 31 assists) in the 2021-22 season, despite appearing in nine fewer games.
The Americans most recently played last Saturday. Tri-City went a perfect 8-for-8 on the penalty kill and Lukas Matecha turned in a stellar 32-save performance to lift the Americans to a 3-1 win over the Everett Silvertips. Ethan Peters, Brandon Whynott, and Jake Gudelj each scored for the Americans. Both Whynott and Gudelj's goals were their first with the Americans.
