LETHBRIDGE, AB - The Lethbridge Hurricanes Hockey Club announced Thursday they have acquired an eighth-round draft pick in the 2027 Western Hockey League Prospects Draft from the Everett Silvertips in exchange for 2004-born forward Hayden Smith.
Smith, 19, was originally acquired by the Hurricanes during the 2021-2022 season from the Saskatoon Blades. "Hayden was a really hard worker and a good soldier for us in his time with the Hurricanes," said Hurricanes General Manager Peter Anholt. "He brought a lot to our young group the last couple of years, and we'd like to wish him nothing but the best moving forward in Everett with the Silvertips."
The Hurricanes now have a 23-man roster including 13 forwards, seven defenceman and two goaltenders.
