Edmonton Oil Kings News Release

(Edmonton, AB) - The Edmonton Oil Kings are so pleased to announce that they were able to donate over 2,000 pounds of food and $1,100 to Edmonton's Food Bank thanks to the generosity of their fans.

At the Oil Kings first-ever Thanksgiving Day Matinee game on Monday, October 9 against the Lethbridge Hurricanes, fans were asked to bring boxes of macaroni and cheese to the game to use as noisemakers and then to do donate to Edmonton's Food Bank as they left after the game.

Thanks to a donation of 3,000 boxes of Compliments Macaroni and Cheese by Voila, an online grocery delivery service available in the Edmonton and Calgary area, fans who were unable to bring their own boxes from home were able to purchase a box on the concourse for $5 with 100% of the proceeds going to Edmonton's Food Bank.

"We are extremely thankful and humbled by our amazing fans and partner in support of this initiative," said Kevin Radomski, Oil Kings Director of Business Operations. "To see this type of community pride shine through from everyone involved reminds us of the positive impact that hockey can have in the community."

The Edmonton Oil Kings next home game is a Family Fun Sunday this Sunday, October 15 at 4:00 P.M. when they take on the Red Deer Rebels at Rogers Place.

The Oil Kings are Edmonton's first choice for family fun with great seats starting at $20 and season seats for as low as $9 per-game for an entire season of thrilling WHL action!
