Allen Americans News Release
ALLEN, Texas - Allen Americans Ice Angel Alyssa Boyles will skate in between periods at tonight's contest with the Amarillo Gorillas at the Allen Event Center. The Plano dancer grew up skating competitively and is a five-time U.S. Figure Skating National Showcase Champion.
Boyles is a double gold medalist, which is the highest achievement in U.S. Figure Skating. She began her training as a competitive figure skater at a young age. Practicing every morning before school at 6:00 a.m., skaters must dedicate 15 hours a week to achieve the national level of skating.
Boyles has qualified for the U.S. Figure Skating National Championships every year since 2004. To compete at the national level, skaters must first qualify by winning their group at a regional competition.
