Kalamazoo Wings News Release
Kalamazoo, MI- The Kalamazoo Wings of the United Hockey League announce that forward Yannick Carpentier has been named the league's Sher-Wood Player of the Week for the period ending November 7th.
Through ten games, Carpentier leads the K-Wings in scoring with 10 points. Carpentier went on an offensive explosion last week scoring five points in just two games for Kalamazoo.
By receiving the honor, Carpentier becomes only the fourth K-Wings player in their UHL history to receive the Sher-Wood Player of the Week. Carpentier joins Tim Turner and former K-Wings Jim Brown and Guy Dupuis, as the only other players to receive the award.
Carpentier and the K-Wings hit the ice three times this week, including twice at Wings Stadium. Kalamazoo will start the week on Wednesday, November 10th, as the K-Wings host the defending Colonial Cup Champions, the Muskegon Fury at 7 p.m. on Equinox Diving and Training Center Night. After traveling to St. Charles, Missouri on Friday, November 12th to play the Missouri River Otters, the K-Wings will return home on Saturday, November 13th to host the Adirondack Frostbite on WRKR, Meijer Military and Boy Scout Night. The 7:30 p.m. game is also Noise Maker Night. The K-Wings are encouraging fans to bring a box of Macaroni and Cheese to the game to use as a noise maker. Following the game, the K-Wings will be collecting the boxes to donate to the Open Door Shelter.
Tickets for the games this week or any of the K-Wings home games during the 2004-05 season are on sale now by calling (269) 345-5101 or at the Wings Stadium Box Office. Business hours of the Box Office are Monday-Friday 10 a.m.-6 p.m. or Saturday's 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
