
Fisher Cats Hit Three Homers But Fall 10-8 in Harrisburg

(Harrisburg, PA)-Anthony Gose, Travis d'Arnaud and John Tolisano all homered, but Harrisburg won its tenth straight game, beating the Fisher Cats 10-8 on Wednesday night in a battle of Eastern League division leaders at Metro Bank Park.
Harrisburg started the scoring in the bottom of the first inning. 2B Steve Lombardozzi led off with his third home run of the season to put the Senators up 1-0.
The Senators put together back-to-back two-out hits to add another run against starter and losing pitcher Chad Beck (5-1) in the bottom of the second inning. Archie Gilbert singled and scored on a double to the gap in left-center by Alex Valdez for a 2-0 lead.
The Fisher Cats took a short-lived lead in the top of the third inning. Mark Sobolewski (3-for-3)
and Darin Mastroianni had singles and Gose ripped a 3-2 pitch to left field for a three-run homer and a 3-2 lead.
Harrisburg (30-20) blew the game open with six runs in the bottom of the third inning. Six consecutive Senators had hits to start the inning including RBI singles for Tyler Moore and Derek Norris, a two-run triple for Bill Rhinehart, and a sacrifice fly for Alex Valdez made it 8-3.
New Hampshire (34-18) cut the lead to 8-4 in the top of the fourth inning on a solo home run by Travis d'Arnaud, his fifth of the season into the batters eye off Harrisburg starter Erik Arnesen. And Sobolewski (3-for-3, 2 R) drove in a run with a single in the sixth to make it 8-5.
Arnesen (3-0) worked five innings, allowing five hits and four runs. He walked two and struck out four. Beck lost for the first time, allowing eight runs on eleven hits in his five innings.
The Senators took a 10-5 lead in the sixth inning. Josh Johnson reached on an infield single and scored on a triple by Chris Rahl. Rahl scored on a sacrifice fly by Tyler Moore.
In the top of the eighth inning, Ricardo Nanita walked, Sobolewski singled and Tolisano ripped a three-run home run to make it 10-8.
New Hampshire went down in order in the ninth against Zech Zinicola, who picked up his first save of the season for Harrisburg.
The Fisher Cats will conclude the series in Harrisburg on Thursday night against the Senators (Nationals Double-A). RHP Joel Carreno (4-3, 3.44) starts for New Hampshire against Harrisburg RHP Ryan Tatusko (1-3, 5.85). Game time is 7:00pm and radio coverage on the WGIR Fisher Cats Radio Network with Bob Lipman begins at 6:45pm.
After a weekend series in Trenton, the Fisher Cats will return home on Tuesday, June 7 to play the Bowie Baysox at 7:05pm.
