New Hampshire Fisher Cats News Release
MANCHESTER, N.H. - The Fisher Cats and Hannaford Supermarkets announced today that the Londonderry Athletic & Field Association (LAFA) has been chosen as the winner of the 2015 'Take the Show on the Road' promotion. Through a partnership with Hannaford Supermarkets, the Fisher Cats will bring their entertainment experience to the fields of LAFA on Saturday, July 25. Three other leagues - Hooksett Little League, Manchester South Little League, and Hudson Youth Baseball - have been awarded consolation prizes based upon the excellent sportsmanship qualities displayed by their young athletes.
"We received a number of wonderful entries proving that the little leagues in New Hampshire and northern Massachusetts are not only developing outstanding athletes, but some outstanding young people through their programs," said Fisher Cats President and General Manager Rick Brenner. "These stories of sportsmanship and integrity highlight the best of youth sports. We are excited to bring our show to LAFA for a great day of baseball and family fun on Saturday."
"This event will be a celebration of sportsmanship and healthy competition, as well as a whole lot of fun for everyone involved," said John Fifield, Hannaford Director of Operations for the Manchester area. "Our community grows stronger when young people can come together to compete and enjoy time with one another in healthy play - all things that will be happening in Londonderry on July 25."
"We are honored and excited to have been chosen for such a fun, unique promotion," said LAFA President Tim Dodge. "Sportsmanship and fair play are the guiding principles of our players, coaches, and parents, and to be recognized for those efforts gives us great pride. I know our league will be ready to help the Fisher Cats and Hannaford create a once-in-a-lifetime experience for our players and fans."
On July 25, the Fisher Cats will bring their inflatable games, Fungo the mascot, PA announcer, promo team, and turf manager to LAFA's Hale Field off Sargent road in Londonderry. Pre-game ceremonies will begin at 5 p.m. with first pitch following shortly thereafter.
For consolation prizes, Hooksett Little League will receive a free night in a luxury suite at a Fisher Cats game this summer. Manchester South Little League and Hudson Youth Baseball will each receive 25 tickets to a game and the opportunity to meet Fisher Cats players.
The Fisher Cats are currently on a seven-game road trip, but will return to Northeast Delta Dental Stadium on Monday, July 27. The homestand will feature three Atlas Fireworks shows, two kids giveaways, WMUR Play Ball for CHaD Night, and the celebration for our four millionth fan. Tickets are available at www.nhfishercats.com, by calling 603-641-2005, and by visiting the stadium box office.
