(Manchester)- Three Altoona pitchers combined on a four-hit shutout Friday night as the Curve beat the Fisher Cats 3-0 before a season-high 6,642 at MerchantsAuto.com Stadium in Manchester. LHP Mike Connolly (6-3) allowed two hits over 7 innings to pick up the win for the Curve. Chris Hernandez pitched a scoreless eighth and Brandon Knight worked the ninth to earn his eighth save for Altoona (35-24). Altoona opened a 1-0 lead in the first against Davis Romero (6-5). CF Vic Buttler singled, stole second, and scored on a double by 1B Simon Pond (2-for-4, 2B, RBI). In the sixth, Pond walked and scored on a triple by RF Ray Sadler. The Curve added a run in the ninth inning on singles by 3B Brandon Chaves (3-for-5) and DH Brett Roneberg against Fisher Cat reliever Rodney Ormond. New Hampshire (26-32) will look to bounce back Saturday at 5:05pm with RHP Ismael Ramirez (4-4, 1.56) against Altoona LHP Shane Youman (2-2, 1.62).
