Reading Fightin Phils News Release
Last night, the Reading Fightin Phils set their single-game attendance record with a crowd of 9,970. The crowd is largest ever in the 65-year history of America's Classic Ballpark. It bested the previous stadium high of 9,967 fans set on July 24th, 2014.
The game featured Mega Blast VI-the largest fireworks show in Baseballtown history---and a performance by the Fightin Phils Mascot Band during the pre-game.
With 60 gate openings in 2015, Reading leads the Eastern League in average attendance with 6,024 fans per game. The Fightins trail the Richmond Flying Squirrels (62 openinigs) by just 2,757 for the 2015 total attendance mark.
