Burlington Bees News Release
(Burlington-IA)- The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers sent ten men to the plate in the top of the first inning, scoring five runs, downing the Burlington Bees, 6-3 on Tuesday at Community Field.
Monte Harrison started the ball game with a hot shot double to left and then came around to score on a cue shot double to left, putting Wisconsin on top 1-0. Later in the inning, Elvis Rubio singled and then came into score on a Bees' error on a ground ball off the bat of Dustin DeMuth. Another error helped the Timber Rattlers pad the lead when Tucker Neuhaus grounded to first, off the glove of Seiz, scoring Rubio, extending the lead to 3-0. Greg McCall capped off the big inning with a double to right, scoring both DeMuth and Diaz, upping the Timber Rattlers' advantage to 5-0.
Bees' catcher, Brandon Gildea, tripled to left to start the bottom of the third inning and then came home to score on a wild pitch, putting the Bees on the board, 5-1. The Bees cut the deficit to three, in the sixth inning, thanks to a Fran Whitten ground out, scoring Caleb Adams, cutting the Wisconsin lead to 5-2.
Alan Sharkey opened the seventh inning with a walk and moved to third on a Dustin DeMuth double. The Timber Rattlers got one of their runs back thanks to a Sthervin Matos sacrifice fly, scoring Sharkey, pushing the score to 6-3.
The Bees tried to rally in the eighth when Natanael Delgado was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning. Delgado had to leave the game and was pinch ran for by Trevor Gretzky.
