Biloxi Shuckers News Release

BILOXI, MS - In a matchup of the Southern League First Half Champs, the Biloxi Shuckers will host the Jackson Generals from Sunday, July 8 to Wednesday, July 11. An afternoon affair, a salute to our Military and a doggone good time are just part of the Shuckers themes for the mid-July homestand.

Sunday, July 8 at 4:05 PM: Military Salute Sunday presented by Keesler Federal Credit Union

After traveling to Pearl, the Shuckers start their homestand with Military Salute Sunday presented by Keesler Federal Credit Union. Discounted tickets are provided for all active and retired military personnel with a valid ID, and Shuckers players will don special Military jerseys during the game. Family 4-packs are also available every Sunday, featuring four Reserved Level tickets and four Schooner's Special vouchers, redeemable for a hot dog, chips and a drink, all for just $60.

Additionally, select Shuckers players will be on the concourse signing autographs before the game, and don't forget to bring your glove for postgame catch on the field. Gates open at 3:00 PM for a 4:05 PM first pitch.

Keep your eyes on the Shuckers when they get on base, because Biloxi has stolen 76 bases this year, the third most in the Southern League. Corey Ray leads the charge, with 21 stolen bags, the most in the Southern League.

Monday, July 9 at 6:35 PM: Doggone Monday presented by Raising Cane's

Ready for a doggone good time? Bring your pooch to the ballpark for Doggone Monday presented by Raising Cane's of South Mississippi! Purchase a $7 Berm ticket for you and your furry friend to cheer on the Biloxi Shuckers as they continue their series with the Generals. Pooch passes for single games or the rest of the season are available for purchase, which include a berm ticket along with a Shuckers-themed dog bowl and leash. Gates open at 5:30 PM for a 6:35 PM first pitch. Arrive early to participate in a pregame dog parade on the field.

On the mound, All-Star RHP Zack Brown gets the start for the Shuckers in game two. Brown tossed a complete game one-hitter in the Shuckers First Half title-clinching game, and is a perfect 7-0 with a 2.44 ERA, the second best ERA in the Southern League. With Brown on the mound, the Shuckers are 15-1.

Tuesday, July 10 at 6:35 PM: Brew Crew Tuesday presented by Miller Lite

The road to the show travels through the Mississippi Gulf Coast, and that means the Brew Crew of tomorrow are in Biloxi today. Come celebrate Brew Crew Tuesday at MGM Park, and live like a Wisconsin legend while enjoying $3 Miller Lite, $4 Brats and the Brewers' Snack Attack special, which includes fried green tomatoes, onion rings, French fries and, of course, Wisconsin cheese curds. Check the Shuckers social media to win Brewers-themed prizes during the game. Gates open at 5:30 PM for a 6:35 PM first pitch.

Two former Shuckers, Orlando Arcia and Josh Hader, have both gone on to play with the Brewers since their time at MGM Park. While they were in Biloxi, they were named to the MLB All-Star Futures Games. That tradition continued this year, when second baseman Keston Hiura was named to the 2018 MLB All-Star Futures Game, which will take place at Nationals Park on July 15. Hiura is the lone representative for the Brewers, after hitting .337 between High-A Carolina and Biloxi this season. Rated as the number one prospect in the Brewers' system, Hiura has anchored the Shuckers lineup since arriving on June 1.

RHP Luis Ortiz has relished pitching at MGM Park as well, going 1-0 with a 3.15 ERA in five appearances at home. He gets the start in the series finale.
