
Fireworks, Cole Gnome, Cheers Night & Education Days on Deck for Curve Homestand

CURVE, Pa. - Things will ramp up in Curve, Pa. when the Altoona Curve return home to open up a homestand Friday night at Peoples Natural Gas Field. Altoona will face the Richmond Flying Squirrels (AA - Giants) this weekend before welcoming in the Akron RubberDucks (AA - Indians) early next week.
The homestand will be highlighted by a pair of fireworks shows (May 16 & May 18), the Gerrit Cole Garden Gnome Giveaway (May 17), Cheers Night (May 20) and back-to-back Education Days (May 21-22).
Listed below are the planned events for the upcoming homestand:
Friday, May 16 | 6:30 p.m. (Gates: 5:30 p.m.)
Richmond Flying Squirrels (AA - Giants)
- Postgame Fireworks
- Armed Forces Night: Members of the armed forces with a military ID can get a $5 Grandstand ticket to tonight's game. The Curve will also salute all military personnel in attendance during tonight's game
- Huntingdon County Night
- Kids Run the Bases
Saturday, May 17 | 6 p.m. (Gates: 5 p.m.)
Richmond Flying Squirrels (AA - Giants)
- Gerrit Cole Garden Gnome Giveaway: The first 1,500 fans in attendance tonight will take home the Gerrit Cole Garden Gnome thanks to Peoples Natural Gas
- Somerset County Night presented by the Tribune-Democrat
- Kids Run the Bases
Sunday, May 18 | 6 p.m. (Gates: 5 p.m.)

- FREE Ritchey's Diary Curve Kids' Club Game - Kids 12-and-under can get in FREE by signing up for the FREE Kids' Club
- Silver Steamers Club Game presented by Homewood at Martinsburg
- Community Collection Day: Pet Food and Supplies - We ask fans to bring in pet food and supplies to today's game to help support the Central PA Humane Society

- Two-for-Tuesday presented by Atlantic Broadband: 2-for-1 offers on tickets, hot dogs & small popcorns
- Cheers Night: We'll celebrate the 21st anniversary of the final episode of "Cheers", which aired on this day in 1993

- "Hungry Heifer" Curve Burgers - Double Curve Burgers for one night only
- The Curve will offer a free Grandstand ticket to fans attending the game that meet any of the following criteria:
- Anyone with a legal first name of Woody, Cliff, Norm or Carla
- Any couples whose first names are Sam and Diane
- Any coach of any team in the area (with proof of a lineup card or roster to verify they are indeed the coach) as a salute to "Coach" Ernie Pantuso
- Anyone in Boston Red Sox or Boston Bruins gear a la Sam "May Day" Malone or Eddie LeBec
- Accountants or psychiatrists (with business card to prove they are indeed an accountant or psychiatrist)
- Anyone from Woody's hometown of Hanover, Ind. or its namesake, Hanover, PA.
- And last, but certainly not least, any postal worker who shows up in full uniform can also get a free Grandstand ticket plus throw out a ceremonial first pitch
