LAST GAME: Greg Peavey struck out a career-high nine and Kyle Johnson drove in a pair of runs to lead the Binghamton Mets past the Altoona Curve, 5-3, on Wednesday night at NYSEG Stadium. Trailing by two after three, Kevin Plawecki started the comeback with a sac fly in the fourth. Binghamton took the lead for good with a three-run fifth, highlighted by an RBI single from Johnson and a run-scoring double from Matt Clark. Peavey scattered seven hits over seven innings to earn his third win in as many starts. Adam Kolarek worked around a leadoff single in a scoreless eighth and Chasen Bradford tossed a perfect ninth to earn his seventh save of the season. Joely Rodriguez allowed four runs (two earned) over five innings in the loss.

BINGHAMTON STARTER: LHP Darin Gorski makes his seventh start of the season and first of the year against the Curve. The southpaw has won each of his last two starts, most recently beating the Harrisburg Senators on May 8 to open this homestand. Gorski struck out seven while allowing two runs on seven hits over six innings to collect his third win of the season. Selected in the 7th round of the 2009 draft by the Mets out of Kutztown University of Pennsylvania, he is in his third season as a B-Met.

ALTOONA STARTER: RHP Adrian Sampson takes the hill for his team-leading eighth start of the year. The righty from Redmond, Washington is winless in his last three starts, with all three coming against the Akron RubberDucks. In his last game on May 8, he allowed season-highs with four runs and nine hits over 6.1 innings in a no-decision. Sampson opened the season by allowing just three earned runs in his first four starts, spanning 23.0 innings. Selected by the Pirates out of Bellevue Community College (WA) in the 5th round of the 2012 draft, he spent last year with Bradenton (High-A).

STREAK HALTED: B-Mets catcher Kevin Plawecki went 0-for-3 with a sac fly on Wednesday night and watched his season-best nine-game hitting streak come to an end. He hit .389 (14-for-36) during the stretch with five multiple-hit games.

THIEVES!: The B-Mets swiped a season-high three bases in Wednesday's game. It was the most stolen bases for the B-Mets in one game since they grabbed three against the Akron Aeros on August 23, 2013.

WINNING HOMESTAND: Wednesday night's 5-3 victory secured Binghamton's second winning homestand of the season. The B-Mets share the league-lead with the Akron RubberDucks and Portland Sea Dogs with 13 home victories in 2014.

JOHNSON ON A STREAK: B-Mets outfielder Kyle Johnson has hit safely in eight straight games and ten of his last eleven. He is batting .417 (10-for-24) during his hitting streak and raised his batting average by 53 percentage points. Johnson is now 10-for-16 with runners in scoring position this season.

MIGHTY DARIN: B-Mets starter Darin Gorski helped his own cause in his last start against Harrisburg on May 8. He went 2-for-3 with a two-run single, a double and a run scored. It was his first career multiple-hit game. B-Mets pitchers have combined to go 0-for-9 at the plate since his performance.

RUBBER MATCH: Tonight marks Binghamton's third rubber match of the season. The B-Mets are 2-0 in series-deciding games and have also gone 8-2 in series finales in 2014.

NEXT GAME PREVIEW: The B-Mets venture away from the Southern Tier for a seven-day, two-city, nine-game road trip that will bring them to Manchester, New Hampshire and Portland, Maine. They open a three-game series against the Fisher Cats on Friday night at 6:35 PM. RPH Matt Bowmangets the ball against RHP Scott Copeland.
