ABOUT LAST GAME: Despite a 4-2 loss to Charleston, Joe Cavallaro was extremely sharp on the mound for the Fireflies. The righty tied his career high with nine strikeouts in seven innings on Thursday night. The RiverDogs broke a 2-2 tie in the eighth with a pair of runs - one was unearned.

STREAKIN': Outfielder Raphael Gladu extended his franchise-record hit streak to 21 straight games on Thursday. Gladu's 21-game streak is the longest in all of low-A baseball in 2018 and one of the longest active streaks in professional baseball. Gladu is hitting .363 (28-for-77) during the hit streak.

THE GIO CLUB: Gio Alfonzo has driven in four runs over his last four games. The 25-year-old is hitting .275 at home this season as opposed to just .225 on the road. Alfonzo became the first Firefly to hit a grand slam at Spirit Communications Park in team history (May 5, 2018).

WE KNOW YOU: Andres Gimenez is off to a sizzling start with the St. Lucie Mets (A+). The former Firefly holds a .280 batting average and leads the Florida State League with 21 stolen bases. The 19-year-old's best month in Columbia last year was July, when he hit .314 over 23 games.

STOP THE SKID: Columbia aims to snap its seven-game losing streak on Friday night against Augusta.
