FLINT, Mich. - The Firebirds are back for the second leg of their two-game home weekend on Saturday night. They were victorious on Friday, topping the Peterborough Petes 3-1. Flint looks for the home-ice sweep tonight versus the Oshawa Generals. Puck drop is set for 7:00 p.m. at the Dort Financial Center.

LAST TIME OUT: On Friday, Markas Samenas scored his third goal of the campaign and both Nathan Aspinall and Kaden Pitre finished with a goal and an assist as the Firebirds downed the Petes at the Dort Financial Center on Friday night. Goaltender Nathan Day made 21 saves on 22 shots for his 13th victory of the season and Flint outshot the visitors 37-22.

SERIES HISTORY: Saturday marks the first of two meetings between these clubs this season and is the lone game scheduled at the Dort Financial Center. The Birds hold an all-time record of 10-20-0-0 when facing the Gens, and have gone 5-10-0-0 on home ice in the series.

SCOUTING THE GENERALS: (15-15-3-1, 4th East Division) -

Dylan Roobroeck, a New York Rangers prospect, leads Oshawa in scoring with ten goals and 19 assists. Tied in second are Matthew Buckley (16 G, 12 A) and Vancouver Canucks prospect Connor Lockhart (15 G, 13 A).

Fourth-year goaltender Jacob Oster has played in 30 games for the Generals. He's earned 13 wins and carries a goals-against average of 3.13 and a save percentage of .901. Rookie Noah Bender has two wins across six appearances and sports a 3.23 GAA with a .901 SV%.

Oshawa ranks 13th on the power play, scoring on 18.5% of their opportunities. The penalty kill is the OHL's fourth-best with an 82.2% rate of success.

SCOUTING THE FIREBIRDS: (15-19-2-1, 3rd West Division) -

Flint has a two-way tie atop the score sheet. Anaheim Ducks prospect Coulson Pitre has the most goals (17), while team captain Zacharie Giroux tops the club in assists (22). Both players have 37 points for the season.

Edmonton Oilers prospect Nathan Day has appeared in 31 contests and earned 13 wins. His goals-against average is 3.90 and his save percentage is .861. Rookie Jacob Brown has a GAA of 4.10 and an .859 SV% to go with two victories across eight appearances.

The Firebirds are 15th with the man advantage, converting on 17.8% of their chances. Their penalty kill is finding success 77.3% of the time which ranks 15th.

ODDS AND ENDS: Gavin Hayes (United States) and Simon Slavicek (Czechia) represented their home countries in the World Junior Championship recently, where Czechia won the bronze medal and the Americans won the gold. Hayes recorded two assists in seven games while Slavicek spent the tournament on the extended roster as a potential injury replacement... The Firebirds are 3-0-1-0 against opponents from the East Division this season... Flint's home record is now 4-10-1-1 and the Generals are 6-7-2-0 in away games... With an assist in last night's contest Nolan Dann now rides a seven-game point streak (6 G, 4 A).
