FireAntz sign Duggan, Martin

[FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.] – The Cape Fear FireAntz of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) announced today the signings of forwards Chris Duggan and Rob Martin.

Duggan, a 6'0'' 185 pound forward out of Woodville, Ontario, returns to the FireAntz after playing with the club late last season. In 2 regular season games with the FireAntz he tallied 3 goals and 2 assists for 5 points. Duggan also played for the Lubbock Cotton Kings of the Central Hockey League (CHL) where he played 60 games, scored 11 goals and added 22 assists for 33 points.

"Chris put up great numbers in the CHL." Head Coach Derek Booth added, "This is a young man we can expect big things from."

Martin, a 5'10'' 185 pound forward from Pickering, Ontario, is entering his first year of professional hockey. In 2 years at Canisius College Martin played 64 games had 15 goals, 25 assists, 40 points and 151 penalty minutes.

Booth said of Martin, "Rob is a good young forward who brings with him tremendous character and an excellent work ethic."

Of the signings Booth remarked, "I am excited to get this type of quality players in the organization."
