Polar Twins Release Schedule

Winston-Salem Polar Twins News Release


WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem Polar Twins released their 2004-05 schedule today. The schedule includes three Thursday, nine Friday, twelve Saturday, two Sunday, one Monday and one Tuesday game.

The Polar Twins open the season at home against the Jacksonville Barracudas on Friday, October 29. They host the Asheville Aces on Saturday, October 30. They host Knoxville, Columbus and Cape Fear the next weekend before hitting the road for 10 straight games. They wrap up the regular season at home on Saturday, March 19 against Asheville.

"We were very pleased that we got the available dates that we received," Polar Twins head coach, Bryan Wells, said. "We have more Friday and Saturday dates that anyone else in the league. It is a great start to what is going to be a great hockey season in Winston-Salem."

The SPHL consists of eight teams. Member teams include the Asheville Aces (NC), Cape Fear Fire Antz (NC), Columbus Cottonmouths (GA), Huntsville Havoc (AL), Jacksonville Barracudas (FL), Knoxville Ice Bears (TN) and Macon Trax (GA). The Orlando Seals are also a charter member but will not begin play until the 2005-06 season.

The season will open Friday, October 29 and end on Sunday, March 20. Each team will play a 56-game regular season schedule. The playoff format will be released in early October.
