Winston-Salem Polar Twins News Release
WINSTON-SALEM, NC â The Winston-Salem Polar Twins are currently seeking out investors for the upcoming season. There are currently two investors who have come forward and are looking forward to the next season, but other potential investors are needed.
Due to the success of the 2004-2005 season, many hockey fans and sports enthusiasts are eager to see the Polar Twins return. Darren Moore, the Assistant General Manager of the Twins, recently spoke of the significance of keeping the Polar Twins in Winston-Salem.
"This past season brought the passion and love of hockey back to Winston-Salem. Winston-Salem has such a long history of hockey, it would be sad to see it end. Also, when we decided to go with the Polar Twins name and logo, we were not sure how it would go, but it turned out to be a popular choice. It is going to be very disappointing to see hockey disappear from Winston-Salem if that happens. Being the triad's only professional hockey team, it would seem like some local people might have some interest to keep it going."
Due to the mandated league rules set forth by the SPHL, each team must have the required paperwork in by a determined date, and that date is fast approaching. The SPHL has put together a great league, and has great ideas for the future, and it would be sad to see Winston-Salem not being a part of it. But if local help and local investors don't come forward quickly, Winston will lose yet another business and another form of great entertainment.
