
Fightins bats gets the job done in Manchester

Reading Fightin Phils News Release
(Manchester, NH) - The Reading Fightin Phils (39-46) batted their way to a 13-3 win over the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (48-36) on Thursday night. Reading recorded 16 hits and hit three home runs in the victory.
Zach Green led off the second inning by hitting a triple off Fisher Cats starter Taylor Saucedo (0-1). Green would score on the next at-bat as Jan Hernandez hit a RBI single to give the Fightins a 1-0 lead. Jiandido Tromp hit a grand slam off Saucedo later in the inning to give Reading a 5-0 lead. It was just the fifth grand slam hit by a Fightin Phil this season.
Deivi Grullon hit a RBI single off Saucedo in the top of the fifth inning to extend Reading's lead to 6-0. Saucedo left the game after five innings and handed the baseball to Nick Hartman. Connor Panas homered off Fightins starter Harold Arauz (6-4) in the bottom of the fifth inning to cut Reading's lead to 6-1. Green blasted a three-run home run off Hartman in the top of the sixth inning to give the Fightins a 9-1 lead.
Cavan Biggio and Harold Ramirez hit back-to-back home runs off Arauz in the bottom of the sixth inning. Arauz left the game with two outs in the inning as Seth McGarry took over. He pitched 2 1/3 scoreless innings while recording two strikeouts and issuing one walk.
Grullon hit a three-run home run off Kirby Snead in the top of the eighth inning to give Reading a 12-3 lead. Emmanuel Marrero hit a pinch-hit double and RBI off Nash Knight in the top of the ninth inning to cement Reading's lead by ten runs.
Josh Tols pitched a scoreless bottom of the ninth inning as he retired the side with two strikeouts.
